Honeysuckle Lane is an open and cozy guest home with great light, built in 2018. It consists of a private entrance, a spacious living room (22m2), a bathroom (5m2) and bedroom (20m2). The decor is an eclectic mix of modern, design and vintage. Attached to the Guest home, but separated by a large sliding wall is a large kitchen (20m2) with a separate entrance. The Kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge/freezer, large induction stovetop, oven, sink, dishwasher, pots/pans and cutlery, etc. It is stocked with basic supplies, like, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, muesli and a fruit bowl. The kitchen offers a large dining table to comfortably enjoy shared meals with up to 6-8 people. The kitchen is at your disposal during your stay but also doubles as an ideal office/meeting space. The host sometimes uses this area for this purpose during business hours.
Blair van Pelt is originally a California girl but she came here to study and instantly fell in love with the place and Wanka. As a result, she has since put down roots here in Wageningen. Blair works as a teacher of sustainable agriculture at Wageningen University. Wanka Lelieveld is a typical tall Dutch guy, originally from Friesland. He works as a self employed consultant with a specialty in innovation, cooperation and new business models. He is currently working on helping Wageningen become climate neutral by 2030. Together Blair and Wanka are passionate about energy-smart-living, cooking, gardening, composting and sharing their space with the locals and guests from afar.
From the outside, Honeysuckle Lane is a striking building in the neighborhood, it's a tilted square gently nestled between the houses. It overlooks a wide green grass strip and a community vegetable garden. Honeysuckle Lane is located in a quiet, open and green residential neighbourhood. It is a convenient 7 minute bicycle ride to the Wageningen University campus and to the center of Wageningen and is close to natural destinations such as the floodplains of the Neder Rhine river and National Park de Hoge Veluwe.
