We are Chris and Gea Smits. Our family consists of Stefan, Alex and Lysanne and of course our sweet little dog Yara, a Sheltie. We had long wanted to start a Bed and Breakfast. After moving often in the Netherlands, we became the happy owners of the Dekema House in Franeker in 2020. A national monument where we have converted the part above the lingerie store into a Bed and Breakfast. Hospitality is in our genes and we love meeting people and experiencing how beautiful Franeker is. A report of our house has been made for the Dutch television program “Binnenste Buiten”.
